In the emergency plumbing market, customers under stress call the first company that looks trustworthy. Delex’s plumbing service van wrap project shows how a bold design featuring their signature water faucet imagery, a prominent 416-910-2550 phone number, and “Est. 2009” credential turns a service van into a 24/7 lead-generation tool across every neighbourhood it visits. The Challenge: Winning Emergency Calls in a Trust-Driven Market
Delex Plumbing came to us with a challenge that plumbing contractors across the GTA share: their Mercedes-Benz Sprinter cargo vans were generating zero brand impressions despite driving through residential neighbourhoods daily. For a company established in 2009 with over 15 years of expertise, those unmarked vehicles were undermining a decade and a half of built-up reputation. Without proper plumbing company vehicle branding, every residential service call across their Peel, Halton, Hamilton, Waterloo, and Etobicoke territory was a missed advertising opportunity.
The business challenges were specific to the emergency plumbing market:
- Zero trust signal on arrival
– When a homeowner is dealing with a burst pipe or a flooded basement, the last thing they want to see is an unmarked white van pulling into their driveway. An unbranded vehicle creates immediate hesitation, exactly the opposite of the confidence an emergency service provider needs to project.
- No neighbourhood advertising
– Plumbing service calls often last 2–4 hours, with the Sprinter parked in a residential driveway the entire time. Without branding, those hours generated zero awareness among surrounding homeowners and neighbours, who are statistically likely to need plumbing services within the next 12 months.
- Emergency search competition
– Homeowners facing plumbing emergencies search “plumber near me” and call the first company that appears trustworthy. Without vehicle branding to build pre-existing name recognition, Delex competed purely on search rankings against dozens of other plumbers, many of whom had branded vehicles to build neighbourhood familiarity daily.
- Sprinter’s untapped advertising potential
– The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter offers over 100 square feet of wrappable surface area, more than a standard highway billboard. Every day that the surface remained blank was estimated to cost 30,000–70,000 lost impressions (OAAA data) across their five-region service territory.
Our Solution: Emergency-Focused Vehicle Wrap for Maximum Neighbourhood Impact
We designed and installed a full commercial vehicle wrap for Delex Plumbing’s Mercedes-Benz Sprinter fleet, purpose-built for the emergency plumbing market. Every design decision prioritized trust-building, readability, and immediate contact conversion, the three factors that drive emergency plumber van wrap effectiveness. Explore our approach to branding for trade vehicles and how we help service businesses stand out on the road.
01
Design Strategy
The design centres on a striking water-and-faucet visual motif that communicates “plumbing” instantly, no text required. A photorealistic chrome faucet with flowing water spans the mid-section of the van, creating a visual anchor that draws the eye and immediately identifies the trade. The Delex Plumbing and Drains name appears in bold red and blue typography on the rear panel, with the phone number 416-910-2550 sized at 4+ inches for readability at 30+ metres. The “Est. 2009” credential is prominently displayed to signal longevity and reliability, which are critical trust factors in the emergency services market.
The lower panel lists all five service regions, Peel, Halton, Hamilton, Waterloo, and Etobicoke, so homeowners across the entire territory can confirm that Delex serves their area at a glance. The website (delexplumbing.ca) appears on the front-door panel for close-range visibility when the van is parked at a job site. Our plumbing company fleet graphics layout ensures every element works at both highway speed and driveway distance. See how we approach vehicle graphics and design.
Material Selection
We specified 3M IJ180 cast vinyl with Comply™ air-release adhesive as the print film. The Sprinter’s high-roof body has compound curves along the roof transition, deep recesses around the rear doors, and panel ribbing that demand a highly conformable film. Paired with 3M 8518 gloss laminate for UV protection and scratch resistance, the system is expected to last 8–10 years outdoors.
Durability matters especially for plumbing service vehicles. Sprinters used for drain-cleaning truck branding projects carry heavy equipment, such as drain snakes, pipe cameras, and water jetters, that is loaded and unloaded through the rear and side doors multiple times daily. The 3M 8518 laminate provides abrasion resistance that protects the water faucet imagery and graphic integrity through years of commercial contact around door edges, bumper zones, and cargo access points.
Production & Installation
Graphics were printed on our HP Latex wide-format printers, laminated, and precision-cut for each Sprinter panel. Installation was performed by our 3M Preferred Installer-certified technicians in a climate-controlled environment at 18–22°C. The Sprinter’s high-roof configuration required scaffold-assisted installation for the upper panels, a standard procedure at our facility for full-size commercial vans.
Each vehicle was completed within 3–5 business days from drop-off, minimizing downtime for a plumbing company that services emergency calls daily. The design was built as a scalable template, so additional Sprinters receive matched branding with identical colour output and faucet imagery positioning, ensuring perfect consistency as the fleet grows.
The Results: 92% Increase in Emergency Service Calls
Within five months of the wrap installation, Delex Plumbing experienced a measurable business impact directly attributed to its new vehicle branding:
- 92% increase in emergency service calls
– Delex tracked a significant jump in inbound calls for emergency plumbing service that corresponded directly with the wrap installation timeline. Callers frequently mentioned seeing the branded Sprinter, specifically the water-faucet imagery and the large phone number, in their neighbourhood or on the road.
- Driveway-to-door lead generation
– Every plumbing service call became a 2–4-hour advertisement on the surrounding street. Homeowners seeing a professionally branded Sprinter with “Delex Plumbing and Drains” and 416-910-2550 parked in their neighbour’s driveway now had a trusted plumber’s name and phone number visible from their front window.
- Pre-built trust on arrival
– Emergency customers reported feeling more confident when a clearly branded, professional vehicle arrived at their home. The “Est. 2009” credential on the wrap reinforced that Delex is an established company with over 15 years of experience, not a fly-by-night operation.
- Multi-region brand building
– With service areas listed directly on the vehicle (Peel, Halton, Hamilton, Waterloo, Etobicoke), the wrap builds brand recognition across all five regions simultaneously. Homeowners in each territory see Delex as a local provider serving their specific area.
The plumber truck wrap Mississauga project turned Delex Plumbing’s Sprinter fleet from functional service vehicles into the company’s most productive marketing assets, generating emergency calls, building neighbourhood trust, and reducing dependence on paid advertising across every route in their five-region territory.

What This Project Demonstrates
The Delex Plumbing case study illustrates several principles that apply to any plumber vehicle wrap or trade service branding project. Businesses planning to wrap a fleet of service vans can apply these same strategies to create a consistent and recognizable brand across every vehicle:
Emergency services demand instant trust
Homeowners in crisis make split-second decisions about which company to call and whom to let into their home. A professionally branded vehicle with an “Est. 2009” credential builds that trust before the technician rings the doorbell.
Visual metaphors communicate faster than text
The chrome faucet with flowing water communicates “plumbing” at a glance from 50+ metres, faster than any homeowner could read “Plumbing and Drains.” Strong imagery is the first thing that registers at highway speed.
Phone number sizing is critical for plumbers
The 416-910-2550 number at 4+ inches ensures readability from across the street, the exact distance at which a neighbour would notice the van and decide to save the number for their own future plumbing emergency.
A single vehicle can transform lead generation
Delex’s 92% increase in calls demonstrates that fleet-scale volume isn’t required for significant ROI. For plumbing companies operating 1–3 vehicles, even one professionally wrapped Sprinter can fundamentally change inbound lead flow.
